Formerly built by British colonists, central Kolkata’s meat market is now ruled by young butcher gangs. Every morning New Market turns into a slaughterhouse. Within a few hours Sahil and his gang cut up hundreds of chickens. It is their uncle’s business they’re taking over. After the bloody mess, soccer or cricket in the nearby streets is on the plan until the next load of poultry arrives.
